Frequently
Asked
Questions
Q: I know someone who needs help, what do I do?
A: The quickest way is to contact our president Jill Busman at 518-347-3600 ext.1637102. If possible, have contact information for the person in need.
Q: What can I do to help the cause?
A: The quickest thing you can do is donate. Unfortunately, we do not currently have volunteer opportunities, but any effort to spread the word on who we are and what we do gives us a better chance of finding those who need us.
Q: Do you accept donations of clothing, furniture, or other items?
A: No, the aid we provide is purely financial. For a list of other agencies providing services in Schenectady County, click the "Other Agencies" icon at the bottom of this page.
Q: Is my donation to Scotia Relief tax deductible?
A: Yes, we are a 501c(3) not-for profit. All donors receive a Thank You/Acknowledgement letter from us suitable for tax purposes.
Q: I know someone who needs help, but they don’t live in the Scotia-Glenville School District. Can they get help?
A: Unfortunately, our charter restricts what we do to residents of the School District. Click the "Other Agencies" icon below for information on other Schenectady County agencies.
